Couples Therapy North Sydney

If the same arguments keep happening, the distance has been growing quietly,

and you are wondering whether it has to be this hard, you are in the right place.

Most of us were raised to believe love should be easy, and that if we have to work at it, something must be wrong. The truth is the opposite. A great relationship is not something you fall into. It is something you build, together, on purpose. That is the work we do with you.

What We Work Towards

Breaking the cycle of conflict that keeps pulling you apart, and understanding the losing strategies underneath it.

Trading the need to be right for the willingness to stay connected.

Slowing down enough to hear what is really being asked for beneath the fight.

Understanding your own patterns and building real compassion for your partner’s.

Creating a felt sense of safety between you, not just an idea of it.

Learning to reach for each other rather than away.

Rebuilding intimacy and your sex life.

Moving from resentment back to cherishing.

Navigating betrayal, distance, or the honest question of whether to stay.

It takes two people to create a pattern, but only one to change it.”

Our Approach

We work primarily from Relational Life Therapy (RLT), the model developed by Terry Real, and we are not neutral. We take the side of your relationship, the “us” that lives in the space between you, and we will lovingly confront the patterns in each of you that keep pulling you apart.

Here is what that looks like in the room:

We help you see the moves you each make when things heat up. Getting defensive, needing to win, shutting down, walking away. They may have protected you once. Now they are costing you the closeness you want.

We help you show up as the steadiest, most grown-up version of yourself, rather than the hurt part that wants to fight, flee, or freeze.

We help you notice what happens in your body when a fight is brewing, so you can settle yourself before it takes over.

We teach you the rhythm every strong couple lives by. You connect, you clash, and you find your way back. The clash is not the problem. Not knowing how to come back is.

We help you ask for what you actually want, instead of protecting yourself and hoping your partner guesses.

The work is deep, honest, and shaped around the two of you.

Go Deeper

  • We have written a number of guides that go into more depth on the specific areas we work we do. If something below resonates with you, it is a good sign that we might be well suited to work together.
